Maybe, maybe not. At least it means that HDDs might be able to stick around another 7-8 years before SSDs are cheaper per Tb. And, it's another new way that Seagates can fail in mass numbers. I'd bet one of the first generations of Seagate HAMR drives will be the new Grenada cash cow.
