Backing up HDD Resources

Continuing to learn on PC-3000, between recoveries I have been taking all the old hard drives that I have laying around and backing up the resources in case I ever have need for them. I noticed most utilities give the option of saving things to the HDD Profile folder or to the Database.

Where do you save resources? Both? Neither? Could someone explain the advantages and disadvantages of both?

Thanks.

Database saves size on your hard drive, and has some useful features for searching based on certain parameters. But, I've found it to be more of a pain than a help personally. So I just stick with using profile folders. It makes it a lot easier for looking at modules & tracks in hex, etc. when the need arises. Especially when you're working with drives that have damaged SA. For perfectly healthy drives, I suppose the database is fine though.

Also, if you need FW to another tool, you cannot take it from ACE DB.
Better to use profiles.
