Just verified it. Read 2 of the three threads that had unread posts, then closed that window. Clicked my Data-Medics Forum link to read unread posts again and the 3rd (unread) thread is listed.
If the unread posts belongs to a specific forum section you don't want to read at all, you can make a shortcut with a list of the forum sections you do want to read

Example let's say you only interested in reading unread posts from "Hard Drive Data Recovery" forum and "Data Recovery Tools" forum, you make a shortcut specified the no. ID of forum or a sub forum (every forum and sub forum is represented with a no. ID (if you didn't know it already).

So, for the example above
Hard Drive Data Recovery = 5
Data Recovery Tools = 8

You add at the end of the link
Code:
https://www.data-medics.com/forum/search.php?search_id=unreadposts
The ID of the forum you're interested in to read its unread posts
Code:
&fid[]=***
(replace *** with the no. ID)

Which will be for the example above:
Code:
https://www.data-medics.com/forum/search.php?search_id=unreadposts&fid[]=5&fid[]=8

The same goes for reading active topics...
Code:
https://www.data-medics.com/forum/search.php?search_id=active_topics&fid[]=5&fid[]=8

@Jol, unfortunately, I'm potentially interested in new posts in all forums. Just changing my Bookmarks toolbar shortcut to unread posts works well enough. Clicking the "Forums Home" link and then the "Mark all forums read" takes just an extra second. Thanks for the suggestions, nevertheless.
